As the deadline for nominations nears, 18 of Brij Bhushan Singh's supporters submitted their nominations for various positions within the wrestling body. According to reports, his panel includes candidates for the President, Vice President, Executive Members, Joint Secretary, Secretary-General, and Treasurer posts.

Today marked the last day for filing nominations, and members from 22 state associations gathered to meet and officially submit their candidacies. Brij Bhushan Singh reiterated that none of his family members would be participating in the election process.

Meanwhile, Bhupender Singh Bajwa, leading the Indian Olympic Association-constituted ad-hoc committee, is overseeing the daily affairs of the WFI.

The scrutiny of the nominations will take place on August 2, and the final list of candidates will be announced on August 7. If necessary, the election will be held on August 12. The wrestling body's future leadership remains a topic of keen interest and scrutiny given the recent controversies surrounding the outgoing President.
