Odisha CM Announces World Odia Language Conference Every Five Years
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared the organization of the World Odia Language Conference every five years, emphasizing its importance in preserving and promoting the Odia language.
Bhubaneswar, February 5: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced that the World Odia Language Conference will be organized every five years. The announcement was made at the valedictory function of the three-day first World Odia Language Conference held in Bhubaneswar.

Milestone in Odia Language History
Patnaik described the event as a milestone in the history of the Odia language. He urged participants to come together once every five years to exchange ideas and take the language forward. The chief minister thanked the students, writers, researchers, linguists, and poets who participated in the conference and acknowledged the discussions on various aspects of the Odia language and the valuable proposals that emerged.
Decisions in the Assembly
Patnaik informed that since the assembly is currently in session, he will announce some decisions taken regarding the Odia language in the House. He emphasized the need to create new words to strengthen the Odia dictionary and appealed to everyone to take a pledge in this regard.
Challenges and Integration
Recognizing the impact of technology on language, Patnaik highlighted the challenges posed by scientific inventions, technological advancements, and computer language to the Odia language. He stressed the importance of taking steps to integrate the Odia language with these evolving technologies.
Book Launches and Special Bus Visit
During the event, Patnaik launched three books: "Shree Jagannatha: Lord of The Universe," "Odia: Journey of a Language," and "Magical Tales From Odisha." On the concluding day of the conference, Speaker Pramila Mallik, ministers, and MLAs visited the conference aboard a special bus from the assembly. They explored the museum, exhibition, mobile libraries, and other displays set up at the venue, Janata Maidan.
Extended Museum Access
Patnaik announced that the walk-through museum will remain open for visitors for another three days, allowing more people to experience the exhibits and learn about the rich heritage of the Odia language.
