Workshop in Haryana Aims to Strengthen Healthcare Workforce Against Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis

Haryana's Health Minister, Arti Singh Rao, recently inaugurated a workshop focused on training healthcare professionals in managing Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB). This initiative is crucial for enhancing the state's fight against MDR-TB by equipping healthcare providers with updated treatment protocols and patient care advancements, according to an official statement.

During her speech, the Health Minister highlighted the pressing need to boost healthcare workers' skills in tackling MDR-TB. She pointed out that this remains a major public health issue in India. Rao reiterated the state government's dedication to improving TB diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes, especially given the emergence of drug-resistant strains.

Commitment to Training and Resources

Rao assured that the state government would persist in supporting training programmes and supplying all necessary resources to effectively combat MDR-TB. The emphasis on continuous education and resource allocation is seen as vital for addressing this health challenge.

Additional Chief Secretary Health, Sudhir Rajpal, also spoke at the event. He underscored the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve TB elimination. Rajpal reminded participants that fighting TB is a shared responsibility, with enhanced training, timely diagnosis, and patient-focused care being essential for success.

Brahmdeep Singh, Director of Health Services in Haryana, stressed that strengthening efforts against TB contributes to the vision of a TB-free nation. This collective approach is necessary for making significant progress in combating this disease.
