Shashi Tharoor Drops 'Word Of The Day' After Nitish Kumar Forms Govt In Bihar With BJP

Word Of The Day: Amidst the political turmoil in Bihar and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA bloc), Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who collapsed his own government after parting ways with Lalu Yadav's RJD and joined hands with the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 to swear in as Chief Minister for the record 9th time. Shashi Tharoor, who is known for his dazzling vocabulary and throwing obscure English words into social media, called Nitish Kumar a "snollygoster."

Snollygoster means an unprincipled politician.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor shared an old post from 2017, when Nitish Kumar had dumped RJD and Congress in Bihar to go with the BJP, saying " Didn't realise it would be the Word of Another Day too!"

His old post had highlighted the word snollygoster which was coined in 1845.

Earlier today, President of Shashi Tharoor's party, Congress, Malliakarjun Kharge called Nitish Kumar 'Aaya Ram-Gaya Ram'.

News agency ANI quoted Mallikarjun Kharge saying "Earlier he and us were fighting together. When I talked to Lalu Ji and Tejashwi, they also said that Nitish is going. If he wanted to stay, he would have stayed but he wants to go. That's why we already knew this, but to keep the India Alliance intact, if we say something wrong, the wrong message will be sent. This information was already given to us by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Today that came true. There are many people in the country like 'Aaya Ram-Gaya Ram'".

Nitish Kumar's departure is a big blow to Congress who was eye to return to power at the Centre in the upcoming General Elections slated in April this year.
