Woman's strangulated body found in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, July 21: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by unknown men and her body was found in the fields near Bilaspur village on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway near here, police said today.

The woman's body was found yesterday, they said. According to Station House Officer A K Singh, the woman was allegedly strangulated to death by unknown miscreants following which her body was thrown into the fields.

The unidentified body has been sent for post-mortem, he said. It is suspected that the woman was murdered after being raped by unidentified miscreants. The signs on her body indicate that she was first raped and then strangulated, police said. Investigations are on, they said.
