Woman raped by father-in-law in Palghar

Palghar, Nov 23: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her father-in-law here aftermath to which he was roughed up by locals prompting him to flee his village Nikha-Gaotanpada, police said today.

The incident took place on November 20, when the victim was alone at home, PSI A N Patil of Kasa police station under Jawhar division told PTI. When locals heard the woman scream, they came to her rescue and allegedly roughed up the accused after which he fled from the scene.

Police have launched a manhunt for the absconding accused after registering offenses under sections 376 and 323 against him.
