Woman gives birth to quadruplets in Dhanbad
Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Feb 8: A woman gave birth to quadruplets at a private nursing home here today, doctors attending on her said. The 25-year old woman gave birth to four children - two sons and two daughters - within a span of 10 minutes through Cesarean section this morning, well known gynaecologist Dr Vikash Hazara said.
Dr Hazara said all the babies were healthy but have been kept under oxygen support as precautionary measure as they were premature and had completed only 7.5 months in the womb.
The doctor said they weighed 1.1 kg, 950 gm, 925 gm and 900 gm respectively. "Cesarean had to be performed since the mother was of short height (5 ft) and was unable to carry them.
She was suffering from anaemia and facing other complications," the doctor said. Ashish Bajania and his wife Foram Bajania, married for two years ago, were under treatment of Dr Rita Hazara.
The delivery was performed by Dr Vikash Hazara and Dr Nilima Hazara.
