With 'Sabhi Ko Ram-Ram' Message On X, Shivraj Chouhan Leaves Everyone Guessing Amid Madhya Pradesh CM Suspense

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to X two days before a crucial meeting of the newly elected BJP MLAs, greeting everyone with a "Sabhi ko Ram-Ram" (a traditional salutation) on Saturday, alongside a photo where his palms were joined, sparking speculation due to the dual use of "Ram-Ram" as both a greeting and a farewell.

However, state BJP chief V D Sharma clarified that the decision about the next chief minister would be made collectively by the MLAs and the top leadership. This comes after the BJP's substantial victory in last month's assembly elections.

Sharma informed reporters about the scheduled arrival of three central observers on Monday morning and the MLA meeting at 4 pm to elect their leader. Emphasizing that invitations had been sent out, he reiterated the adherence to the party's procedural norms in making the decision.

Addressing queries about Chouhan's tweet, Sharma highlighted the cultural significance of invoking Lord Ram, stating that in their tradition, starting the day with the name of Ram was customary, considering the country as belonging to Lord Ram.

Sharma emphasized the BJP's adherence to a cadre-based structure, affirming that the party workers would uphold and respect any decision made by the leadership. He underlined the decision-making authority of the higher echelons of the BJP, including the Prime Minister, Amit Shah, J P Nadda, and the central leadership.

Regarding the election of the leader by the MLAs, Sharma emphasized that it would be an internal decision of the legislators themselves.

The BJP designated Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, party's OBC Morcha head K Laxman, and secretary Asha Lakra as observers for the selection of legislature party leaders in Madhya Pradesh during a meeting on Friday.
