Winter Session Of Parliament To Begin From Nov 25
The Winter Session of Parliament will begin on November 25 and will continue till December 20, Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, announced on Tuesday.

In a post on X, the minister said, "Hon'ble President, on the recommendation of Government of India, has approved the proposal for summoning of both the Houses of Parliament for the Winter Session, 2024 from 25th November to 20th December, 2024 (subject to exigencies of parliamentary business). On 26th November, 2024 (Constitution Day), 75th Anniversary of the adoption of Constitution, the event would be celebrated in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan."
During this session, the Centre is expected to introduce a Bill aimed at implementing significant reforms in insurance laws to further liberalize the sector. Plans include raising the foreign direct investment (FDI) limit from the current 74% to 100% and introducing a composite licensing system for both life and non-life insurance sectors.
Additional changes aimed at enhancing insurance penetration in the country may involve reducing capital requirements for micro-insurance providers, according to a report in Financial Express.
However, the minimum capital threshold for composite licenses is likely to be higher than that for separate licenses for life and non-life insurance, the report added.
