Will India Bloc Decide On A PM Candidate? Contenders Emerge Ahead Of Big Meet

A day left for the INDIA Bloc to reunite at a meeting in Mumbai and already some names for possible PM candidature have been floated by member parties. The recent contenders include Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier today while addressing a press conference at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray took a jibe at the Centre by saying the INDIA Block has several choices for the PM candidature unlike BJP, which has only one choice.

"The INDIA Bloc has several choices. What choice does BJP have?" Thackeray was quoted saying while addressing the media during the press conference in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also claimed that BJP has no choice except to nominate PM Modi. She further stated that the INDIA Alliance has different choices.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while addressing the media asserted that the Aam Admi Party would share its strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections at the third meeting of the INDIA alliance in Mumbai.

Before that, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the INDIA bloc has several faces for the PM post, however, the decision for the PM candidature has not been taken yet.

Just 2 days ago Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's name as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

63 representatives of 28 political parties are scheduled to attend the INDIA Bloc meeting on Thursday in Mumbai.
