Who Is Raghuvinder Shokeen? AAP's Nangloi MLA To Be Minister In Delhi Cabinet, Replacement For Kailash Gahlot
Raghuvinder Shaukeen has been appointed as a new minister in Delhi's Cabinet, replacing Kailash Gehlot. Shaukeen, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Nangloi Jat, will take over the responsibilities left by Gehlot's resignation. This decision was made by AAP's national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal.
Shaukeen's appointment marks his first entry into the cabinet. He is a member of the Jat community, similar to his predecessor Gehlot. The AAP leadership chose Shaukeen to maintain representation from this community within the cabinet. His background includes work as a civil engineer and contributions to education.

Raghuvinder Shaukeen's Political Journey
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Shaukeen emerged victorious against BJP candidate Sumanlata Shaukeen with a margin of 11,624 votes. Previously, in 2015, he defeated BJP's Manoj Kumar Shaukeen. His consistent victories highlight his strong political presence in West Delhi.
Shaukeen has openly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stated that "Aam Aadmi Party takes every society along, but BJP works to divide on the basis of religion and caste. An example of this has been seen in the Haryana elections."
Community Representation in Cabinet
The inclusion of Raghuvinder Shaukeen aims to ensure continued representation for the Jat community within Delhi's cabinet. This move aligns with AAP's strategy to maintain diverse representation across different communities in its leadership roles.
The recent changes come after Kailash Gehlot joined the BJP following his resignation from AAP. This shift opened up a position that Shaukeen now fills, bringing his experience and perspective to the cabinet.
As Delhi welcomes its new minister, Raghuvinder Shaukeen is expected to bring fresh insights and continue working towards inclusive governance under CM Atishi's leadership. His appointment reflects AAP's commitment to maintaining community balance while addressing key issues in governance.
