With this big decision, Milind Deora ended his family's five-decade-long association with Congress. According to the reports, Milind Deora will now join Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena along with his suporters. Talking to the reporters, after his announcement to resign from Congress' primary membership, Milind Deora said he is now moving towards development.

Milind Deora, a two-time Member of Parliament (MP) for Congress represented the Mumbai South constituency in the Lok Sabha. He has served as the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology in the erstwhile government.
Milind Deora is the son of veteran politician Murli Deora, who attained a Bachelor of Business Administration education from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University.
The 47-year-old Maharashtra politician entered the house in 2004 after winning from the Mumbai South constituency in the general elections against BJP's Jaywantiben Mehta. He outclassed the saffron by a huge margin of 10,000 votes.
In 2011, Milind Deora became the Union Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology.
Next year, the government added the responsibility of the Minister of State for Shipping to his portfolio.
Milind Deora was Congress' one of the most trusted leaders from Maharashtra. He led the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee and played a crucial role in strengthening the roots of the party.
In 2029, Milind Deora stepped down from the Mumbai Congress President's position.
