For security agencies the arrest of Indian Mujahideen founder Abdus Subhan is a big catch. He will help unravel the pending mysteries of the Indian Mujahideen.

Co-founder of Indian Mujahideen (IM) Abdul Subhan Qureshi, one of the most wated terrorists arrested by Delhi Police Special Cell, before being produced in a court in New Delhi

It was he along with Riyaz and Iqbal Bhatkal who set up the Indian Mujahideen. He was part of the editorial team of the Students Islamic Movement of India. It was on the instructions of the SIMI that he decided to set up the IM.

A resident of Masjid Bunder in Mumbai, Subhan began operations from that city. Subhan was the IT face of the IM.

Subhan had worked in several IT firms but quit stating that he wanted to dedicate himself to religious activities. He was handpicked by SIMI's chief Safdar Nagori, for his computer skills.

He had extensive computer knowledge and is well versed in cyber masking technologies, which made it hard for investigators to track down the e-mails sent by the IM.

Subhan made the Light Emitting Diodes, which were used in the blasts at Bangalore, Ahmedabad and New Delhi. Subhan played a key role in all the three blasts which were planned at the same time.

Subhan organised training camps in Karnataka, Hyderabad and Mumbai. During these camps, he recruited youth into the IT cell of the SIMI and imparted training on how to make bombs using the Internet.
