When Maneka Gandhi praised Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for curbing corruption

New Delhi, April 25: In a rare instance, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi on Sunday praised Congress president Sonia Gandhi and surprised everyone.

Reportedly, while talking about ways to fight corruption, she cited an example Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her estranged sister-in-law and praised her.

According to a report in CNN-News18, "Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi cited Sonia Gandhi's example on how to curb corruption and discourage nepotism."

While officials were complaining about corrupt 'babus', Maneka Gandhi narrated an incident and said, "Once a relative of Sonia Gandhi opened a shop and started telling people that he was related to her. Sonia Gandhi took out a newspaper ad saying people should not go to this person.

You also take out an ad saying whoever wants recognition, should come straight to you. Put up a notice outside your office. We will order a vigilance inquiry against the babus, also we can have CCTV cameras."

"I am asking you to do a similar thing," the BJP MP further said.

Maneka Gandhi represents Pilibhit Lok Sabha constituency. The rare praise came at a vigilance meeting the minister held with officials in her constituency on Sunday.
