What Is 'Amrit Kaal', Often Used by PM Modi? Know Its Meaning
The Centre has convened a special session of Parliament for five days between September 18 and 22, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Thursday.
There was no official word on the agenda of the session which will be held days after the G20 Summit in the national capital on September 9 and 10.

"Special Session of Parliament (13th Session of 17th Lok Sabha and 261st Session of Rajya Sabha) is being called from 18th to 22nd September having five sittings. Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to having fruitful discussions and debate in Parliament," he said on X, which was earlier known as Twitter.
For over two years now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP leaders have been using the term 'Amrit Kaal'. It was apparently coined by the PM in 2021 in his Independence Day speech.
What is 'Amrit Kaal'?
The concept of Amrit Kaal originates from Vedic astrology and symbolizes a golden era. It represents a significant period during which exceptional opportunities become available to both celestial and earthly beings. Regarded as the most favourable and propitious moment, Amrit Kaal is ideal for initiating new endeavours. As India charts its course towards emerging as a global superpower in the upcoming twenty-five years, Amrit Kaal embodies the optimism of a brighter future, wherein the nation achieves self-reliance.
In his I-Day speech, the PM said that the objective of 'Amrit Kaal' is to enhance the well-being of citizens, bridge the developmental gap between rural and urban areas, and minimize governmental intervention in public affairs. This initiative also involves fostering the adoption and advancement of cutting-edge technologies for the nation's progress.
He described the current era as an "Amrit Kaal," a critical juncture in time, where each action and sacrifice would establish the groundwork for a magnificent history unfolding over the next 25 years. In his address, Prime Minister Modi underscored the lasting consequences of today's choices, anticipating their echoes to resonate throughout the next 25 years.
This will be celebrated till India celebrates its 100th Independence Day.
