Weather update: Many States to continue to face heatwave condition
The heatwave conditions will continue to prevail in Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Thursday.
According to IMD, eastern areas of Uttar Pradesh, Central and East India, and interior parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra are likely to experience temperatures between 40-44 degrees Celsius.

Bihar
Heatwave conditions in some parts, with severe conditions in isolated pockets, are very likely during 19th-20th April and heatwave conditions at isolated places are very likely on 21 April.
West Bengal
Heatwave conditions in some parts, with severe heatwave conditions in isolated pockets, are very likely on 19th April and severe heatwave conditions in isolated pockets likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 20th-21st April. Isolated heatwave conditions are very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on 20th April.
Districts like Bankura, Bardhaman, Birbhum, Purulia, Murshidabad, Nadia, West Midnapore, Jhargram, East Midnapore, Hooghly, Howrah, Kolkata, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas are likely to experience rise in temperature till April 21.
Odisha & Jharkhand
Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are very likely on 19 and 20 April.

Rainfall forecast
Light rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over western Himalayan region and isolated to scattered rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during the next 3 days.
While heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh during April 20-22nd and over Assam & Meghalaya on 21 and 22nd April, 2023. An isolated hailstorm is also likely over Assam and Meghalaya today.
