Weather Alert: Cyclonic Activity Triggers Heavy Rains in Delhi-NCR, Bihar, MP, and More
Delhi-NCR is experiencing a delightful change in weather with heavy rainfall across various areas. Early morning darkness enveloped the region, and the meteorological department has issued rain alerts for several locations. Currently, Noida is witnessing intense showers, and reports indicate similar conditions in South Delhi. Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj, and nearby areas are also experiencing significant rainfall.
The meteorological department reported that in the past 24 hours, regions like Marathwada, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh received heavy rainfall ranging from 120 to 170 millimetres. The upcoming week is expected to be crucial weather-wise due to a cyclonic circulation forming near Andhra Pradesh's coast in the Bay of Bengal. This may lead to substantial rainfall in Bihar, Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, eastern Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, and northeastern India.

Weather Alerts for Mumbai and Surrounding Areas
Mumbai has been under a heavy rain alert since Wednesday morning. The sky is overcast with clouds, leading to the closure of Andheri Subway due to flooding. The meteorological department predicts intense rain for the next 3-4 hours in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and nearby regions. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected citywide with winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h.
Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated on traffic and waterlogging conditions. The forecast indicates that this weather pattern will continue due to cyclonic pressure over western Rajasthan and neighbouring Pakistan combined with an active monsoon trough stretching from Jammu to the Bay of Bengal.
Rainfall Predictions Across Northern India
The skies over Delhi-NCR have turned dark as black clouds cover the entire region. Rain accompanied by light storms is anticipated in Delhi-NCR areas such as Jind, Gohana, Gannaur, Maham, Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhel, Jhajjar, Farrukhnagar, Sohna, Palwal, Nuh-Aurangabad-Hodal (Haryana), Baraut-Baghpat-Khekra-Modinagar-Pilkhuwa-Hapur-Gulaothi-Sikandrabad (U.P.).
Meanwhile, light rain is expected in Bulandshahr-Khurja-Jattari (U.P.), Rajound-Asandh-Loharu-Mahendragarh-Narnaul (Haryana), Sahaswan (U.P.), Pilani-Jhunjhunu-Kotputli-Rajgarh (Rajasthan). Very light rain or drizzle might occur within two hours at Panipat (Haryana), Shamli-Kandhla-Sakoti Tanda-Daurala-Meerut-Kithore-Moradabad-Garhmukteshwar-Siyana-Sambhal-Bilari-Chandausi-Bahjoi (U.P.).
Weather Forecast for Bihar
Bihar's weather is set for a change with light rain expected at some places on Wednesday. From Thursday onwards for seven days ahead heavy rains are predicted across many districts. Local authorities have issued lightning alerts for several areas.
In coming days southern Bihar including Gaya Rohtas Kaimur will experience more rainfall compared to northern parts. After a brief lull monsoon activity has picked up again bringing relief from extreme heat and humidity following good showers on Sunday.
Weather Conditions in Uttar Pradesh
Several districts in Uttar Pradesh may see light rain today with chances of thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. Following a brief pause monsoon has regained momentum bringing respite from scorching heat as many parts experienced good rainfall on Sunday.
The forecast suggests continued rain alerts for some districts today as well.
The meteorological department forecasts cloudy skies with light to moderate thunderstorms in Delhi today July 23rd predicting intermittent showers till July 26th due to ongoing cyclonic activities affecting regional weather patterns.
Delhi's temperature will range between 23°C - 36°C until July 28th according to predictions ensuring varied weather conditions throughout this period.
