Watch Video: Car Swept Away In Panchkula's Ghaggar River
A video of a woman's car swept away in a river has gone viral. The incident has come to light in Haryana's Panchkula on Sunday.
The woman had come to a temple to offer prayers at a temple in Kharak Mangoli in Panchkula. She had parked her vehicle on the river bank. However, the water level in the river suddenly rose and her car washed away in a flash flood while she was still inside it.

The car washed away due to a flash flood triggered by heavy rain in the Ghaggar River. Many parts of Haryana and Punjab received rains, leading to a drop in the minimum temperature, the weather department said on Sunday.

However, locals came to her rescue and pull the woman out of the car amid a strong current of water. She was rushed to a local hospital, officials told PTI.

In the past 24 hours ending at 8:30 am Sunday, Ambala, Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Kurukshetra and Mohali received rains, according to a report of the MeT office.

Meanwhile, there were efforts to remove the vehicle from the river with the help of a crane. PTI has also shared the visuals from the rescue efforts.
In a similar incident, a team of the National Disaster Response Force rescued eight people who were stuck near the Ghaggar River in Panchkula, an official said. The water level in the river increased due to rain in its catchment areas.
