WATCH Tragic Blast In Murshidabad: 3 Killed In Country-Made Bomb Explosion
A deadly explosion in the Khayartala area of Murshidabad, West Bengal, on Sunday night claimed the lives of three individuals.
The blast, which took place in the home of Mamun Mollah, is believed to have been triggered by country-made bombs that were being manufactured at the residence, as reported by Hindustan Times. The force of the explosion was so intense that it caused the roof of the house to collapse, and debris scattered across the area.

The victims of the explosion have been identified as Mamun Mollah, Sakirul Sarkar, and Mustaqin Sheikh. Local residents reported hearing a loud blast, but they were unaware of the details surrounding the explosion until authorities arrived on the scene. According to police reports, the explosion occurred at night when the individuals were reportedly in the process of making the bombs, though investigations are still underway to determine the exact cause of the detonation, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Following the explosion, the police, bomb disposal units, and other emergency services rushed to the scene. The authorities began securing the area, and the debris was carefully removed. However, as of now, no further explosives have been discovered at the site. The police have not yet made any arrests but are continuing to gather evidence related to the manufacturing and storage of explosives.
The Khayartala area, like many parts of rural West Bengal, has witnessed incidents involving the illicit production of country-made bombs, often used in local conflicts and criminal activities. The use of homemade explosives has been a recurring issue in the region, and this incident has drawn attention to the dangers posed by such illegal operations, as per media reports.
Earlier this year, another fatal explosion occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district, where a blast caused the collapse of three houses and led to the deaths of four people. In that case, authorities suspected that the explosion was caused by the presence of gunpowder, and investigations are ongoing.
The Murshidabad incident raises serious concerns about the lack of regulation and control over the production and storage of dangerous explosives in residential areas. It also highlights the need for stronger enforcement of laws surrounding the manufacturing of country-made bombs, which continue to cause harm and fatalities in various parts of the country.
As investigations continue, authorities in West Bengal are likely to intensify efforts to curb illegal bomb-making operations and ensure the safety of residents in affected areas. The local police are also expected to question neighbours and gather intelligence on the sources of the materials used in the bomb manufacturing.
