The famous Beating Retreat ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar was held with great enthusiasm as part of India's 77th Republic Day celebrations. Large crowds gathered to witness the powerful display of discipline, patriotism, and military tradition at the border.

Meanwhile, the main Republic Day parade took place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi with grandeur and precision. President Droupadi Murmu arrived in a traditional horse-drawn carriage, accompanied by European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who attended as chief guests.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, senior ministers, top military officers, and diplomats were also present, adding to the importance of the occasion.

Culture and Defence Power on Full Display

This year's parade followed the theme "150 Years of Vande Mataram" and showcased India's military strength and cultural richness. Advanced weapons, newly raised military units, and defence systems were displayed, along with colourful tableaux representing different states and government ministries.

Marching contingents from the armed forces impressed the audience with their discipline and coordination, reflecting India's preparedness and unity.

Air Force Flypast Thrills the Crowd

The celebrations concluded with an exciting flypast by the Indian Air Force. A total of 29 aircraft, including fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters, flew in well-coordinated formations over Kartavya Path.

Highlights included the Varuna formation with a P-8i aircraft and Su-30 fighters, the Arjan formation featuring transport aircraft, and the Vajraang formation led by Rafale jets.

Vijay Formation Delivers Grand Finale

The most dramatic moment came with the Vijay formation. A Rafale fighter jet flew at high speed and performed a sharp Vertical Charlie manoeuvre at low altitude, drawing loud cheers from the audience.

As the parade ended, thousands of tricolour balloons were released into the sky, creating a striking visual of unity and hope. From soldiers at the border and military dogs on duty to fighter jets in the sky, the 77th Republic Day celebrations reflected a nation proud of its heritage and confident in its future.
