Vrindavan widows demand a welfare bill

Mathura, June 24: After the inception of Yoga Day in the UN list, widows now want PM Modi to introduce a bill for the welfare and protection of widows in Vrindavan. Under the aegis of the NGO, Sulabh International, the widows at Vrindavan gathered at a shelter home and demanded the introduction of the bill during the monsoon session of the Parliament.

One of the widows said,"We would approach the PM to take measures for the welfare of widows who are living in Vrindavan and Varanasi."

And taking up there issue is the Founder of Sulabh Inter national, Bindeshwar Pathak who reportedly prepared a draft bill for the protection of widows in the country.

The document also stated that there are millions of unfortunate women in India who lose their husbands untimely and with no source of income. In fact, these women comprise 3% of the total population. Most of these women are ailing, old and disabled. The document also proposes to set up a welfare board to exclusively look after these women.
