Bundi Employs Creative Means to Boost Voter Awareness for Lok Sabha Polls

In an innovative push to increase voter turnout in Rajasthan's Bundi district, authorities have introduced unique methods to engage the electorate ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The district, which is part of the Kota parliamentary constituency and a section of the Bhilwara constituency, is set to vote in the second phase on April 26. Among the creative strategies employed are distributing around 1 lakh paper cups with messages encouraging voter participation and placing stickers on gas cylinders.

Bundis Creative Voter Push

Bundi District Collector Akshaya Godara highlighted the initiative's aim to spark conversations about voting at tea stalls, where these cups are being distributed for free. This approach is part of a broader effort under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program to enhance electoral awareness and increase polling percentages.

The district has also seen a flurry of activities including awareness rallies, public meetings encouraging people to pledge their vote, and the creation of colorful rangolis with slogans promoting voter awareness. SVEEP teams are actively engaging with the public in various places, emphasizing the importance of exercising one's constitutional right to vote.

Despite a notable increase in voter turnout from 66 percent in the previous parliamentary elections to 77.6 percent in the state assembly elections, efforts are being intensified to bridge this gap further. According to DC Godara, the objective is to reach every voter personally, urging them to participate in the electoral process and secure their commitment through a letter of declaration.

Adding a creative twist to these efforts, District SVEEP icon Sunil Jangid, an artist by profession, is leveraging social media platforms to spread voting awareness. Through a special cartoon series, Jangid aims to encourage people to celebrate democracy with the same fervor as festivals like Eid and Nav Varsh.

The innovative measures adopted by the Bundi administration reflect a comprehensive approach to voter engagement, aiming not only to inform but also to inspire the electorate towards higher participation in the democratic process.
