Viral Video: Content Creator Speaks Marathi In Delhi, Epic Reactions Win Over Netizens
It is quite common to hear people speaking their regional languages while travelling to other states in India. However, this often creates a language gap, especially when locals struggle to understand them. Amid ongoing discussions on the language issue in the country, two popular content creators, Sandesh Agate and Mohit Kajarekar, who run the YouTube channel "Because, Why Not?", have shared a light-hearted video celebrating the Marathi language - this time, in the heart of Delhi.
In their latest video, Mohit Kajarekar walks around well-known places in Delhi and speaks to people only in Marathi. His aim is not to cause trouble but to show, in a fun way, how people respond to hearing a completely different language.
The video starts with Mohit walking up to a young man and saying, "Dada," before asking where he can take a bath. The man, looking confused and unsure, clearly does not understand what Mohit is saying. Throughout the video, Mohit continues to ask humorous and confusing questions in Marathi. In one moment, he asks two men about a "paati" (which means "slate" in Marathi), leading to a mix-up as they wonder if he meant "party" or "parking."
Some people try to help him politely, while others simply admit they do not understand the language. A street vendor, in a funny twist, replies with random directions and nonsense words, playfully matching Mohit's prank with his own humour.
The video quickly became popular online. Viewers praised the genuine reactions of the people in Delhi. One person commented, "People are trying to understand and help you instead of being violent and imposing their language. That's North India for you." Another said, "Delhi knows how to treat diversity."
One humorous comment read, "Don't argue, just say 'Iss block se aage' and move on." Another user wrote, "Glad Delhi don't beat you for speaking another language."
Sandesh and Mohit, the creators of Because, Why Not?, are well-known for their prank videos that highlight how kind and humorous people can be, even in unexpected situations. Their latest Marathi-in-Delhi experiment has once again shown that laughter and kindness can cross all language barriers.
