The monkey menace has become a major cause of concern at many places in India.
They have become a major threat to the people. Earlier, the monkeys used to be either in the forest region or in temple premises.
Many time lagurs are deployed to check the monkey menace.
Civic authorities in Delhi were earlier using langurs to keep monkeys away from the parliament complex. But the practice had to be abandoned after protests from animal rights activists and a court order that keeping monkeys in captivity was cruel.
