Video: Heavy rains continue to batter Tamil Nadu, Massive traffic paralyses Chennai

Chennai, Nov 24: There's no respite from heavy rains for people in Tamil Nadu and other states in South India. Heavy rains continued to batter Tamil Nadu.

Rain water on Monday, Nov 23 entered a Government Hospital in Chennai, causing inconvenience to the patients. However, authorities claimed that health care services to the people continued.

"We are using motor pumps to flush out the flood water, the work is on continuously. However, since the rain continues, there is no let up in inflow too," a medical official told PTI, adding "not all the portions of the hospital are affected, it is only to some extent on the ground level."

"Our services to the people are not affected, the patients in the ward which is witnessing inundation have been shifted to a safer place," he added.

The capital city of the state experienced one of the horrible days as massive traffic paralysed the entire city on Monday.

Traffic came to a standstill at several places across Chennai because of heavy rain. People were stuck for hours together, barely moving an inch as traffic cops tried helplessly to improve the situation.
