Vande Bharat Express Gets Schedule Update: New Stop Added on Mumbai–Gandhinagar Route

The Vande Bharat Express, India's third of its kind, has had its schedule updated. This semi-high-speed train, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 September 2022, is managed by the Western Railway zone. It connects Mumbai Central with Gandhinagar Capital, providing a quick and comfortable travel option for passengers.

Covering a distance of 521 km, the Mumbai Central–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express (train numbers 20901/20902) operates six days a week. The train does not run on Wednesdays. It completes the journey in just 6 hours and 30 minutes, making it one of the fastest trains on this route.

Route and Stoppages

The train now includes an additional stop at Navsari, bringing the total number of halts to eight. The stations where it stops are Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Vadodara Junction, Anand Junction, and Ahmedabad Junction.

Passengers can board the train from Mumbai Central at 06:00 hrs (train number 20901), with an arrival time at Gandhinagar Capital set for 12:25 hrs. In the opposite direction (train number 20902), it departs Gandhinagar Capital at 14:05 hrs and reaches Mumbai Central by 20:30 hrs.

Coach Composition and Ticket Prices

The train comprises 20 modern coaches designed for comfort and efficiency. Passengers have two seating options: AC Chair Cars and Executive Chair Cars. These features ensure that long journeys are more pleasant and relaxed.

Travelling on this premium service comes with two fare categories. The AC Chair Car costs Rs 1,285 while the Executive Chair Car is priced at Rs 2,465. These prices reflect the premium facilities offered on board.
