Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi Shares Candidates List For Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Prakash Ambedkar's Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) on Wednesday shared a list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. The announcement of candidates was made during a press conference where nine candidates were finalized. According to the reports, Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi has decided to go solo in the upcoming polls as Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharad Pawar) groups have been delaying the finalization of seat sharing.

"We have decided to contest elections on our own. We took the decision at our party's meeting last night," the VBA chief said. The reports said VBA may spoil the sport for Maha Vikas Aghadi if a third front is formed for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.

During the presser, Prakash Ambedkar announced that he would contest elections from the Akola seat and support the Congress candidate in the Nagpur seat against BJP's Niti Gadkari.

The VBA State Committee has decided to support Shri Prakash Shendage (OBC Bahujan Party) from Sangli, if he contests.

However, the party has not decided its candidate for the Ramtek seat yet.

Maharashtra is the second largest state (48) in terms of Lok Sabha seats, after Uttar Pradesh (80), and it will go under polling in five phases, starting from April 19.

On the other side, the Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group has announced 17 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. The announcement was made by senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on the micro-blogging site X.
