PM Modi Launches ₹8,260 Crore Projects In Uttarakhand, Aims to Make It A Global Spiritual Hub

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs 8,260 crore in Uttarakhand. This event coincided with the state's formation day. Modi expressed confidence that Uttarakhand could become the 'spiritual capital of the world' by focusing on eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and wellness centres.

During Uttarakhand's Silver Jubilee celebration, Modi highlighted the state's spiritual strength. He stated, "Uttarakhand's real power is its spiritual strength. If it decides, it will become the spiritual centre of the world in a matter of a few years." He suggested connecting temples, ashrams, and meditation centres to a global network.

Development Progress in Uttarakhand

Modi remarked on Uttarakhand's progress over 25 years. He noted significant advancements across various sectors. "Uttarakhand has made all-round progress in different sectors in last 25 years," he said. The state's budget has grown from Rs 4,000 crore to over Rs 1 lakh crore during this period.

The Prime Minister also mentioned improvements in infrastructure. Electricity production has quadrupled, and road lengths have doubled over the past 25 years. These developments reflect the state's commitment to growth and modernisation.

Significant Projects Unveiled

The projects unveiled by Modi span multiple development areas. They include drinking water supply, irrigation systems, technical education facilities, energy solutions, urban development initiatives, sports infrastructure, and skill development programs.

Among the inaugurated projects are Dehradun's water supply coverage for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme and an electrical substation in Pithoragarh district. Additionally, solar power plants are being installed on government buildings to promote renewable energy use.

Sports Infrastructure Enhancements

A notable addition to sports infrastructure is the AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital. This facility aims to boost sports activities and provide better training opportunities for athletes in the region.

Modi reiterated his belief in Uttarakhand's potential after visiting Baba Kedar. "When I said after having darshan of Baba Kedar that this decade belongs to Uttarakhand, it wasn't merely a sentence but a belief in you," he stated. As Uttarakhand marks its 25th anniversary, Modi remains confident about its future prospects.

The Prime Minister's vision for Uttarakhand emphasises leveraging its spiritual heritage while advancing infrastructural development. By integrating these aspects, he believes that Uttarakhand can achieve remarkable growth and recognition globally.
