In a tragic incident in Uttarakhand's Pauri district, a bus veered off course and plummeted into a deep ditch, leading to the loss of at least six lives and leaving 22 others injured. The mishap occurred near the Dahalchori area when the bus, en route from Pauri to Dahalchori, failed to maintain control and crashed into the 100-meter-deep ditch. This incident has brought sorrow to the region, prompting immediate response from local authorities and rescue teams.
Following the accident, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) quickly mobilized to the scene to conduct a thorough rescue operation. The swift action by the SDRF teams highlights the prompt response in the wake of such unfortunate events.

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressed his condolences and concern for the victims and their families. "Very sad news was received about the death of four passengers due to a bus accident on the way to Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pauri. I pray to God to grant the souls of the departed a place in His feet and provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this pain. Relief and rescue operations are underway by the local administration and the injured are being treated at the nearest hospital. I pray to Baba Kedar for the speedy recovery of the injured," Dhami shared on X, emphasizing the government's commitment to aiding those affected.
Simultaneously, another distressing event unfolded in the national capital, where an SUV collided with a road divider and subsequently hit two cars in the opposite lane near east Delhi's Mayur Vihar, resulting in two fatalities and one injury early Sunday morning, according to PTI.
