I use urine to water plants: When Nitin Gadkari's remark tickled social media's funny bone
New Delhi, May 5: Social media is abuzz after Union Minister for Transport Nitin Gadkari was quoted by media reports that he waters his plants in his Delhi bungalow with urine for their healthy growth.
Addressing a gathering at Nagpur, Gadkari said, "I collected urine in a 50 litre can. I called the gardener and instructed him to water some plants with it. There was such a big difference - it grew one and a half times bigger than the other plants."
Stating that there was a scientific reason behind this, the Union Minister said "urine has abundant urea and nitrogen compounds, which nourish the plants." He also added that soon urine could emerge as a cheap alternative to fertiliser.
Minutes after Union Minister's confession Twitter was flooded with frenzy jokes and comments.
