US-based singer Mary Millben, known for her renditions of popular bhajans, condemned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's recent comments on population control. Millben, who has a significant following in India, has called for Kumar's resignation, citing his remarks as disrespectful and inappropriate.

In a video shared on her X handle, Millben expressed that if she were an Indian citizen, she would move to Bihar and vie for the position of Chief Minister, emphasizing the need for a courageous woman to step forward for the role.

Highlighting the challenges to women's value in Bihar after Nitish Kumar's comments, she urged for a female candidacy for the Chief Minister's post in response to the situation.

"After Nitish Kumar ji's comments, I believe a courageous woman needs to step up and declare her candidacy to run for Chief Minister of Bihar. If I were a citizen of India, I would move to Bihar and run for Chief Minister. The BJP should empower a woman to lead in Bihar," the singer said in a post on X formerly known as Twitter.

    Drawing inspiration from historical references such as the biblical story of Queen Esther and references to the film 'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan, she encouraged the people of Bihar and India to exercise their voting power to bring change and emphasized the need for empowering women in leadership roles.

    Millben praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his commitment to empowering women and his role in strengthening bilateral relations between India and the United States. She stated her love for India and her belief in PM Modi's leadership for the progress of Indian citizens and global economic stability.

    The video stressed the beginning of the 2024 election season in both the US and India, presenting an opportunity for change and alignment with progressive values for a collective national future.

    Responding sharply to Millben, Priyanka Chaturvedi posted on X, "Mary Millben has an opinion on Manipur. Mary Millben has an opinion on Bihar CM. Mary Millben has an opinion on who to vote for in 2024. Mary Millben should give up her US citizenship and move to India and seek citizenship of India so as to truly experience the magic of Modi ji sarkar. Till then Madam can please sit down."

    Mary Millben garnered attention for touching Prime Minister Narendra Modi's feet during a U.S. event. The singer, a known supporter of PM Modi, urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to "empower a woman to lead in Bihar" in her recent video message.
