UP Woman Missing for Nearly Three Years Found Living with Boyfriend in Lucknow
Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have found a woman missing from Gonda for almost three years. Her family and in-laws had accused each other of her murder and abduction, officials reported on Monday. The woman was discovered living with her boyfriend in Lucknow, according to Gonda's Superintendent of Police, Vineet Jaiswal.

Kavita, aged 23, married Vinay Kumar from Daduha Bazar on 17 November 2017. She disappeared from her in-laws' residence on 5 May 2021. Her family accused her husband's family of murder, leading to a case against her husband and his relatives at Kotwali Nagar police station, Jaiswal explained.
Investigations and Legal Proceedings
Despite thorough searches, Kavita's location remained unknown for a long time. In December 2022, Vinay Kumar filed a case against six individuals, including Kavita's brother Akhilesh, alleging they had abducted her. Both investigations continued without success in finding Kavita.
The situation intensified when the High Court requested details of the police's efforts. Following this, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Kotwali police tracked down Kavita at her boyfriend Satya Narayan Gupta's home in Lucknow's Daliganj area.
Relationship and Discovery
Satya Narayan owned a shop in Durjanpur market, Gonda, where Kavita often visited him. Their relationship developed over time, eventually leading her to elope with him, the SP disclosed. During questioning, Kavita revealed she lived with Satya Narayan in Ayodhya for a year before relocating to Lucknow.
Kavita is currently undergoing a medical examination and will be presented in court. Further legal actions will follow according to the court's instructions, as stated by the officer.
