UP Woman Files Police Case Against Husband After Losing 2 Instagram Followers, Know What Exactly Happened

A disagreement over Instagram usage led to a police case in Uttar Pradesh. A woman, Nisha from Hapur district, accused her husband of demanding too much housework, leaving her no time for Instagram Reels. This conflict escalated when she noticed a drop in her follower count and decided to leave her husband.

Relations between Nisha and her husband Vijendra, who resides in Noida, were strained due to his suggestion that she reduce social media time for household duties. Nisha briefly complied but left for her maternal home in Pilkhuwa after losing two followers. She then filed a complaint at the Women's Police Station in Hapur.

Instagram Reels vs Household Chores

Nisha told the police that her husband's insistence on chores caused a decline in her Instagram followers. "My followers declined as I was kept busy washing utensils and cleaning of the house by my husband. I didn't get time to make Reels," she stated, according to Deccan Herald. She used to post two Reels daily before this issue arose.

In response, Vijendra also lodged a complaint against Nisha. He claimed that she was always occupied with Instagram and neglected household responsibilities. This mutual blame led both parties to seek police intervention for resolution.

Police Intervention and Resolution

The Women's Police Station in-charge, Aruna Rai, spent about four hours listening to both sides of the story. The couple received counselling on maintaining marital harmony and family life balance. Both acknowledged their contributions to the conflict and agreed to work towards peaceful coexistence.
