UP Police in question again! Now, undertrial escapes from police custody in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar, Oct 31: An undertrial, lodged in district jail here escaped police custody when he was being taken for a court hearing. Sameryab, lodged in the jail on charges of loot, was being taken for a court hearing in Shamli's Kairana town, when he escaped custody by throwing chilly powder on the cops yesterday, police said. Security has been tightened after the incident and the search for the accused is on, they said.

Earlier, in August this year a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Shaikh Abdul Nayeem alias Sameer, accused in Mecca Masjid blast case escaped from police custody in Mumbai. Before that in April 2012, an undertrial named Abhayraj Saroj also had escaped from Mumbai police custody.
