UP Police Earn Public Trust Through Predictive Policing, Claims Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has seen a major shift in law enforcement over the last eight and a half years, with UP Police now viewed as a force that deters crime and enjoys public trust, speaking at the Police Manthan conference on 28 December 2025.

Addressing senior officers at the state Police Headquarters on the final day of the two-day event, Yogi Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh is being cited as a global example of effective policing. "The perception of law and order has changed dramatically. Today, Uttar Pradesh is recognised for its proactive and predictive policing model," he said.

UP Police law enforcement reforms and Smart Policing vision

Yogi Adityanath outlined a broad Smart Policing vision that links recruitment, training, infrastructure, cyber security, forensics, and the Police Commissionerate system. The Chief Minister said these changes have shifted UP Police away from a purely reactive style to one that predicts and prevents crime. "This transformation has instilled fear among criminals and confidence among the public," he said.

According to Yogi Adityanath, capacity building has been central to UP Police law enforcement reforms, with more than 60,000 constables currently in training within the state. Modern academies and upgraded facilities are preparing personnel for new challenges, especially cybercrime and forensic work, while the Police Commissionerate system has strengthened urban policing, leading to quicker responses and more efficient crime control.

As part of UP Police law enforcement upgrades, cyber police stations have been opened in all 75 districts, backed by 12 forensic science laboratories and a dedicated Forensic University. These institutions support digital and scientific investigation, reinforcing the proactive and predictive policing model highlighted by the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said these UP Police law enforcement steps were discussed in depth at Police Manthan, the two-day senior police officers' conference held at the state Police Headquarters. Top officers reviewed progress in recruitment, training, infrastructure, cyber security, forensics, and the Commissionerate framework. Yogi Adityanath maintained that Uttar Pradesh has undergone a historic change in law enforcement, with UP Police now combining deterrence for offenders with confidence for citizens. The expanded training network, cyber units, forensic support, and stronger urban policing structures are presented as key reasons for the current model’s recognition.
