UP Police Constable Killed In Accidental Firing During Cow Slaughter Raid
A constable was killed and a sub-inspector was injured in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh after the service revolver of an inspector accidentally fired during a raid to catch cattle smugglers.
The raid was being conducted by the Special Operations Group (SOG) and personnel from two police stations in a village bordering Bulandshahr district.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Suman, the incident happened when Inspector Azhar Hussain's pistol jammed, reported India Today.
Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar tried to unlock the weapon when it suddenly fired shots. The bullet struck Kumar in the abdomen and then hit Yakoob in the head.
Yakoob succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, while Kumar is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be stable.
SSP Suman has ordered an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accidental discharge.
Bashiullah Khan, the father of the deceased constable, questioned the nature of the incident, expressing doubt about the accidental nature of the discharge.
He said, "How did the bullet hit him in the head? It cannot be unless it is intentional."
