UP Govt To Honour 1.43 Lakh Shiksha Mitras On May 5, ₹18,000 Honorarium Rolled Out Statewide

The Uttar Pradesh government raises the monthly honourarium for Shiksha Mitras to INR 18,000 from April 2026, benefiting about 1.43 lakh workers. On 5 May, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to highlight about 1.43 lakh shiksha mitras. A state-level function in Gorakhpur will officially mark higher monthly honorarium and formal recognition. Under this scheme, each shiksha mitra is now receiving 18,000 rupees per month from April 2026. The government links this move to stronger primary education across the state.

The main programme will take place at Baba Gambhirnath auditorium in Gorakhpur from 11 am. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the initiative and interact with shiksha mitras there.
