UP govt plans to build 100 metre tall grand statue of Lord Rama in Ayodhya
The Uttar Pradesh government has proposed to build a grand statue of Lord Rama on the bank of Saryu river in Ayodhya. The statue is part of the plan to showcase 'Naya Ayodhya'.

The statue will be built at Saryughat after clearance from the National Green Tribunal.
The proposal was presented by Governor Ram Naik as part of the state tourism department's initiatives to promote religious tourism. The height was told to be 100 m, but it is not fixed.
Apart from the statue, other structures of public utility will also be built in the town. The money for these projects has been partly sanctioned by the Central government.
A Ram Katha gallery, an auditorium in Digambar Akhada are also in government's plan.
