UP: Engineering student found hanging in hostel

Banda (UP), May 9: A 21-year-old girl, third year student of an engineering college was found hanging in her hostel room in the district, police said on Monday, May 9.

The girl, a student at the Doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar Engineering College in Attara, was found hanging in her room in government women's hostel yesterday, Attara Circle Officer Kiran Singh said.

Slit marks were found on the girl's wrist and her cellphone is also missing, he said, adding that, the police is trying to trace the phone through which the call records can be accessed to probe the case further.

Singh said her parents have been informed and body will be sent for post-mortem only after their arrival from Kanpur.
