A building collapsed in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh in the early hours of Monday, killing two people and injuring several others. Authorities are concerned that approximately three to four individuals may still be trapped beneath the wreckage. A search and rescue operation is currently underway to locate and assist them, according to the police.

Initially, 12 individuals were rescued and promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, two of these individuals could not be saved and succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining injured are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Simultaneously, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has deployed a team to the accident site to conduct search operations in an attempt to locate those believed to be trapped. Additionally, a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is poised to join the ongoing rescue efforts.
Dinesh Kumar Singh, the Superintendent of Police in Barabanki, provided details about the incident, stating, "Around 3.10 am, we received information about a building collapse in Barabanki. Initially, we were informed that around 19 people were trapped in the incident. Subsequently, the fire service vehicles were mobilized, and local residents also extended their assistance in the rescue efforts. Later, it was determined that four members of a family were away from home and thus escaped the incident. Among the remaining 16 individuals, we successfully rescued 12 and transported them to the hospital. Regrettably, two of those rescued individuals have since passed away. We have received information indicating that three or four people may still be trapped under the debris. The SDRF team is currently at the scene, and the NDRF team will be arriving shortly."
A video depicting the accident scene has emerged, showcasing police officials and SDRF members diligently working to remove debris from the collapsed building, while concerned onlookers watch anxiously.
