Uttar Pradesh Allocates 12,500 Acres for Defence Manufacturing Nodes Under CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh has designated 12,500 acres for defence manufacturing as part of two new industrial corridors. CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state's growing significance in the defence sector during the inauguration of a private facility in Noida.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state has designated 12,500 acres for defence manufacturing. This initiative is part of India's two forthcoming defence industrial corridors, with one being developed in Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made during the opening of Raphe mPhibr Pvt Ltd's private defence equipment and engine-testing facility in Noida's Sector 80.

Adityanath, alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, inaugurated the new facility. He highlighted Uttar Pradesh's expanding role in the defence sector, which includes nine operational ordnance factories and several defence public sector units (PSUs). Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Rajnath Singh, two new defence manufacturing centres have been approved, one of which is located in Uttar Pradesh.

Defence Manufacturing Nodes and Key Projects

The Chief Minister detailed that six nodes—Aligarh, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot—are being developed across the allocated land. He mentioned significant projects like the BrahMos missile centre in Lucknow, stating, "Lucknow's smile was incomplete until the echo of the missile reached the enemy's ears." The BrahMos missile demonstrated its capabilities during Operation Sindoor.

Adityanath expressed gratitude to Rajnath Singh for bringing the BrahMos missile-manufacturing facility to Lucknow. He also referenced other projects such as the AK-203 unit in Amethi and the Escort facility in Hardoi. The CM emphasised that Operation Sindoor marked a pivotal moment showcasing India's strength and underscored the importance of preparing for future challenges.

Drone Exhibition and Future Prospects

During the event in Noida, both Singh and Adityanath explored a drone exhibition featuring advanced drones and electronic warfare systems. Adityanath acknowledged Raphe mPhibr's contributions, noting that these new facilities would be instrumental in transforming Noida into a defence hub and advancing India's self-reliance.

Adityanath also remarked on India's traditional wisdom by saying, "There must be a balance between shastra aur shaastra weapon and knowledge. A nation becomes powerful only with this balance, and it is only after becoming powerful that one can appeal for peace." This statement underscores the importance of balancing military strength with knowledge.

The inauguration was attended by several notable figures including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, MP Mahesh Sharma, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, and senior officials from the defence department. Their presence highlighted the significance of this development in India's defence sector.

The establishment of these facilities marks a significant step towards enhancing India's defence capabilities. It reflects a strategic move to bolster local manufacturing while aiming for self-sufficiency in defence production.
