Union Minister Smriti Irani paves her 'silk' route to Amethi

is gifting 15,000 silk sarees to the women of Amethi this Diwali. Mind you, the money for this gift has been borne by her alone. On MOnday, just a day after its sitting legislator, Rahul Gandhi, left the constituency, camps were set across the five assembly segments from where the sarees were distributed.

The cardborad packing was attractive too, colored in the hues of the BJP logo, the covering also featured the pictures of Narendra Modi and Smriti Irani. Meanwhile, the women of Amethi said that this is the first time that any politician has gifted them on Diwali. They also hoped that she would cater to their problems of transportation and electricity.

Irani may have lost to the Gandhi bastion in Amethi during the general elections, but she continues to lend a ear to the villagers here. She has also assured the people about fast-track Central schemes.
