Tomar Challenges Congress's Objections to BJP Fielding Central Ministers in Upcoming Madhya Pradesh Elections
Narendra Singh Tomar, Union minister and convenor of MP BJP election campaign committee, has questioned the opposition from Congress regarding their decision to field seven of its MPs for the upcoming assembly elections. He expressed confidence about a victory for the BJP due to PM Narendra Modi's popularity.
In the run-up to the year-end assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister and BJP election campaign committee convenor Narendra Singh Tomar has raised questions over Congress's objection to his party fielding central ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs). The opposition party has expressed concerns over BJP's decision to field seven MPs, including three Union Ministers, for the upcoming state-level polls. According to Congress, this move suggests a sense of fear prevailing within the ruling party and indicates its apprehension about losing the elections.
BJP Stands Firm on Candidate Selection

Narendra Singh Tomar, who is also among the candidates chosen by BJP for these elections, defended his party's decision stating that all are party workers regardless of their positions as Union ministers or MPs. He further added that it was a collective decision made by the party’s central committee to have these individuals contest in the forthcoming elections. When asked about Congress's objections towards this strategy he questioned back "When a decision has been taken, what objection does Congress have?"
Candidature Confirmation and Future Plans
On being asked if he had prior knowledge about his candidature for these polls, Tomar confirmed that he was indeed informed beforehand. However, when queried whether more BJP MPs would be contesting in future assembly polls, he refrained from giving a direct answer instead suggesting everyone should "look forward".
Confidence in Victory
Towards end of his statement Mr.Tomar expressed confidence regarding BJP’s victory in these upcoming polls. He attributed this assurance not only due to internal belief but also because of what seems like apparent fear within ranks of opposition parties especially Congress. According to him they are afraid due to soaring popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which could potentially sway voters towards choosing BJP.
In conclusion it is clear that the political arena in Madhya Pradesh is heating up with both major parties, BJP and Congress, making strategic moves to secure a win. The decision of BJP to field Union ministers and MPs has stirred up controversy but also shown their resolve to bring out their heavy hitters for these crucial elections. The outcome of this electoral battle will not only decide the fate of Madhya Pradesh but also set the tone for future state-level polls.
