Uma Bharti cancels her Ayodhya visit
Bharti had earlier said she would face any punishment for the sake of Ganga, Ayodhya and the tricolour.
Union Minister Uma Bharti, who was supposed to visit Ayodhya on Wednesday evening after the Supreme Court's order on Babri Masjid case, has cancelled her visit.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed an appeal by the Central Bureau of Investigation which challenged the dropping of charges against Bharti along with other senior BJP leaders such as L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi.
The SC ordered that the trial would be conducted in both Lucknow and Rae Bareli.
Speaking to the media hours after the Supreme Court order of her along with Advani and Joshi to face criminal conspiracy charges, Bharati claimed that there was no conspiracy.
She said that she will not resign from her post and would face any punishment for the sake of Ganga, Ayodhya and the tricolour.
When asked if she would visit Ayodhya again, the Union minister said that she would visit Ayodhya on Wednesday itself.
"I will go there on Wednesday night. I will express my happiness and pride to Lord Ram for the honour I have been given," she had earlier said.
