The recent incident of the rape of a minor girl in Ujjain has sent shock waves across the entire country. While the victim continues to receive medical treatment in the hospital, the police have apprehended the accused. In a heartwarming gesture, Inspector Ajay Verma of the Mahakal police station has decided to adopt the young rape victim. He has also pledged to cover all of her living expenses.

Providing updates on the incident to the media, Superintendent of Police Sachin Sharma revealed that Inspector Ajay Verma of Mahakal police station has chosen to adopt the girl and support her financially as reported by OneIndia Hindi. This compassionate decision demonstrates the commitment of the local police to provide assistance and care to the victim.

During the investigation, as the police attempted to arrest the accused, he tried to make an escape attempt, resulting in injuries to his leg. Two police officers also sustained injuries while apprehending the accused. The injured accused is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital.

WHAT M.P. CM SHIVRAJ SINGH CHOUHAN SAY: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed his concern, stating that the accused's injuries occurred during his apprehension and that he will face severe punishment. He assured that no efforts would be spared to ensure the strictest possible punishment for the perpetrator. The Chief Minister emphasized that individuals who commit such heinous crimes do not belong in society and that the government will provide full support to the victim. He referred to the victim as "my daughter" and "the daughter of Madhya Pradesh," pledging to take care of her and ensure justice is served.

THE INCIDENT: After a distressing video of a young girl pleading for help circulated widely on Wednesday, the Ujjain police swiftly assembled a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising 28 members to lead the inquiry.

The survivor hails from Chetpura village in Satna and had gone missing from her home while still in her school uniform on September 24. She managed to reach Ujjain by train, where she sought assistance from several autorickshaw drivers, though she had no specific destination in mind. Ultimately, she boarded an autorickshaw reportedly driven by an autorickshaw driver named Soni, who transported her to Jeevankhedi and raped her.

The circumstances surrounding why the minor left Satna and journeyed to Ujjain remain unclear at this point. As per media reports, the victim's father is coping with mental health issues, and her mother has been absent from the family for several years. Consequently, the girl had been residing with her grandfather and older brother.
