Sanjay Raut Criticises Uday Samant for Failing to Attract Investments at Davos Summit

Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut criticised state industries minister Uday Samant on Wednesday. Raut accused Samant of focusing on breaking Shiv Sena UBT rather than attracting investments at the Davos summit. Raut urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to recall Samant, as he is more concerned with internal politics than securing investments for the state.

Raut Calls for Samants Return from Davos

Instead of discussing investment opportunities from Davos, Samant has been speaking about meetings involving Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Raut stated, "The CM should send him back to Mumbai." Samant is part of a delegation led by Fadnavis attending the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Investment Focus at Davos

Raut expressed disappointment over Samant's priorities, especially with Shiv Sena pramukh Bal Thackeray's birth anniversary approaching on January 23. He remarked, "You should be ashamed. They called Sharad Pawar a wandering soul but they themselves are wandering souls." This comment highlights Raut's frustration with the current political focus.

Samant claimed that four MLAs and three MPs from Shiv Sena UBT, along with five Congress MLAs, have met Shinde in the past 15 days. He also mentioned that around 10 former MLAs from Shiv Sena UBT, led by Uddhav Thackeray, and several district unit chiefs are in contact with Shinde.

Political Allegiances and Meetings

According to Samant, district chiefs from Congress, former MLAs, and MPs are also reaching out to Shinde. He asserted that within the next three months, these individuals will work within Shiv Sena. These claims were made by Samant while attending the summit in Davos.

The ongoing political dynamics within Maharashtra's parties are drawing attention away from economic discussions at international forums like Davos. The focus on internal party matters instead of investment opportunities raises concerns about the state's economic priorities.

The situation underscores the tension between political manoeuvring and economic development efforts. As leaders engage in political strategies, the need for attracting investments remains crucial for Maharashtra's growth and prosperity.
