Uber case: 3 Police Stations, Patrol Vans close by when she was raped!
New Delhi, Dec 10: If we blame the call cab, we have to blame the police equally. It is surprising that when the woman was being raped in the taxi, there were three police stations just 3 kilometers away and 3 patrol vans at hand's length.
The spot was secluded and no one bothered to check the idle car standing there. The girl had no idea that she was 3 kilometers away from her home when she found the man violating her. The Uber driver who raped and dumped her in the middle of the road near Zakira bridge confessed that he had reminded the woman of the Nirbhaya case and said that if she resisted, an iron rod was handy with him and would not hesitate shoving it inside her.

After the Uber rape case, women rights activists rue that nothing has changed after the Nirbhaya case where the girl was raped brutally in a moving bus. Ironically, on that ill-fated night on December 2012, the bus circled slowly over main road and passed undetected through multiple police check points.
The tinted windows and the signs declaring it a school bus did not strike anyone that it could not be on the roads in the middle of the night.
The student and her male friend were beaten and pushed naked on the main road, left to bleed. It was later discovered that the bus did not have a valid permit to be on the road at late hours. If we blame the call cab, we have to blame the police equally.
