Tragic Incident: Two Women Drown After Boat Capsizes in Telangana Lake During Family Outing
Two women from Patna lost their lives when a boat overturned in a lake in Vikarabad district, Telangana, on Saturday. The incident occurred around 4:30 pm as four families, who had travelled from Chennai to a resort in Vikarabad for camping, decided to go boating on Sarpanpally lake. Fortunately, their granddaughters were rescued.

The women, both in their mid-50s, were accompanied by their granddaughters and the boat operator when they ventured into the lake. Strong winds caused the small boat to capsize, throwing everyone into the water. A senior police official reported that family members attempted to save them, but the two women became unconscious and died.
Rescue Efforts and Allegations
One relative who tried to help was taken to a hospital and is reportedly out of danger. A family member claimed that the resort management did not provide significant assistance following the accident. The boat operator managed to swim to safety after the vessel capsized.
The women were retrieved from the water and transported to a hospital, where they were declared dead upon arrival. The family member also alleged that there were no effective safety measures at the resort.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have stated that further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The tragic event has raised concerns about safety protocols at recreational facilities.
