Two Fraudsters Arrested for Duping Jobseeker of Rs 3 Lakh with Fake Passports

Police have apprehended two individuals accused of defrauding a jobseeker of Rs 3 lakh by promising employment in Azerbaijan. The complaint was filed by Dakshinanchal Kumar, a 30-year-old resident of Vaishali Sector-3, on December 19. Following the complaint, Kaushambi police swiftly used CCTV footage and manual inputs to arrest the suspects in Vaishali.

Fraudulent Job Offers in Gulf Countries

The arrested individuals are identified as Manish Kumar, 34, from Delhi's Tughlakabad, and Shah Rukh Khan, 24, from Ayodhya district in Uttar Pradesh. ACP Indirapuram Swatantra Kumar Singh revealed that Manish Kumar confessed to operating an office named Jai Ambey Enterprises in Vaishali Sector-1. From there, he contacted people with promises of lucrative jobs in Gulf countries such as Dubai, Kuwait, and Maldives.

Kumar charged significant fees for these services. When individuals demanded their money or visas back, he would forge documents to appease them. He admitted to previously working with Dynamic Construction Company in South Africa from May 2022 to April 2023. During this period, he brought money from abroad and later collaborated with Khan to exploit jobseekers in India.

Arrest and Seizure of Fake Documents

During the arrest, police recovered 22 fake passports and two identity cards among other items from the accused. The suspects have been sent to jail while further investigations are ongoing. ACP Singh stated that the investigation aims to uncover more details about their fraudulent activities and any other potential victims.

The case highlights the need for jobseekers to exercise caution when dealing with employment offers abroad. Authorities urge individuals to verify the legitimacy of job offers and consult official channels before making any payments or sharing personal information.
