Two Class 10 Students Injured in Stabbing Incident During Mumbai School Exam

Two students in Grade 10 at a Mumbai school attacked classmates with a knife over a seating dispute during exams, police reported. The incident occurred on Monday morning at a private school in Antop Hill, Central Mumbai, just before the Class 10 preliminary exams began. Both injured students are receiving treatment at Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion.

Stabbing Incident in Mumbai School Exam Hall

The altercation started between two 15-year-old students over a bench in the exam hall on the school's fourth floor. A heated argument ensued, leading one student to call a friend for a knife. The student then stabbed another pupil in the abdomen, back, and hand, according to the FIR.

Police Investigation and Charges

When the victim's friend tried to intervene, he was also attacked by the accused student, resulting in injuries. Other students quickly stepped in to de-escalate the situation and rushed the injured pupils to the hospital. Police have registered a case under sections of the new criminal code BNS for attempted murder and causing hurt with dangerous weapons.

Authorities are investigating further to understand the full circumstances surrounding this violent incident. The school has not yet commented on the matter, but security measures are expected to be reviewed following this event.
